  • Based at Williams Gateway Field, Mesa, Arizona, Advanced Training Systems International (ATSI) was established in July 1997 to offer tactical aviation training and professional flight test services to the international aerospace industry. ATSI training ranges from aggressor service, maintenance, and flight training to fighter weapons school curricula and applications.

    NOTE: On 10 MAY 2003, A4N N263WL was destroyed when it impacted the Great Salt Lake near Salt Lake City following a loss of engine power.
    The pilot was fatally injured.

  • As of 25 MAY 2003, ATSI was negotiating a $50 million contract to purchase 17 A-4 Skyhawks recently retired from the Royal New Zealand Air Force. The contract, which awaits approval of the New Zealand Defence Minister and the U.S. Defense Department, will include employment of New Zealand pilots and maintenance personnel. Additionally, ATSI is negotiating with the Royal Australian Navy to base six of its A-4s at the Nowra naval base, south of Sydney.
