Douglas Aircraft Co.: "The A-4C Skyhawk is a single place delta wing attack aircraft manufactured by Douglas. It is powered by a J-65 Curtiss-Wright engine. Its maximum take off weight is 22,000 pounds. It has a combat ceiling of 40,000 feet and a combat radius of 750 miles without refueling. Its maximum speed is 560 knots. It is the most versatile jet attack plane in our present inventory due to the immense flexibility of loading. In additon to two 20mm guns and two Sidewinders, it can carry up to eighteen 250 pound bombs or fifty-seven 2.75 inch rockets. It carries any conventional ordnance in the inventory, up to 2,000 pound bombs, including Bull Pup and is capable of carrying any of the nuclear bombs in the fleet arsenal. The inventory price of this plane is $587,000. A newer verison, the A-4E, cost $750,000."
