"I was XO of the VA-153 Blue Tails at the time on USS Coral SEA, 1965. The damage to my right wing was sustained during a hi-gee pullout on an Alfa strike on the famous Than Hoa bridge. As usual the old A4 brought me home plugged into a tanker. ... The photo shows Airman Loftus, my plane Captain, and myself kneeling under the wing of my battle damaged A4C.
