He was awarded the Academic Achievement Award in Primary and Intermediate Flight and was named to the Commodore's List, with Distinction, during Primary, Intermediate and Advanced Flight Training. Additionally, he was designated a Distinguished Naval Graduate. During Advanced Strike Training he earned four Navy "E's" for bombing accuracy. EISENHOWER (CVN-69).  Lieutenant EMERSON GAIO ROBERTO, Brazilian Navy is a native of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. He is a 1992 graduate of the Brazilian Naval Academy where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to commencing jet transition flight training in 1997, Lieutenant Roberto was winged as a helicopter pilot with the Brazilian Navy in December 1996. He flew theT-34C in Uruguay and the AT-26 in the Brazilian Air Force prior to reporting to VT- 7 in May 2000. During Advanced Strike Training the earned two Navy "E's" for bombing accuracy.
