Rivers was next assigned to VT-2 at NAS Whiting Field as a flight instructor in the Beechcraft T-34C Mentor, and named Lions Club Instructor of the Year while assigned to that Command. Lieutenant Walker was named to the Commodore's List during Primary and Intermediate Flight Training and was VT-19's Student of the Month for March 1991. During Advanced Strike Training Walker earned two Navy "E's" for bombing accuracy and one Navy "E" for rocket firing accuracy.
