Captain Oliver presents a "War Eagle" in the form of a red-tailed hawk to Commander Waring the Commander of Anti Submarine Fighter Squadron One. VSF-1 was at Fallon for weapons training and received the "War Eagle" as its new mascot, symbolic of the spirit within the squadron.

"Rudolph the Red Nosed Skyhawk" had a Grumman F-11A Tiger radar nose grafted to the body. The nose was painted red with a white eye and black pupil.
